All set to play Holi this year? I am sure you are! Amidst of all the colors and chemicals it’s very important to take care of our skin and hair. So here are quick Do’s and Don’t that you must follow before you step out to celebrate.
a) For Hair : Apply henna mask a day before holi (today).It will coat your hair from roots to tips and protect it from sunlight and harsh chemicals.
b) Apply generous amount of oil on your hair to avoid dryness.
c) For Skin : Layer your body with aloevera gel followed by sunscreen because you don’t want to get tanned, right?
d) Trim your nails and apply dark color nail polish, in this case men can coat their nails with a top coat nail paint or vaseline
e) Apply a layer of Vaseline on your lips
f) Wear full length dress and protect your eyes with sunglass
Post Holi :
a) Use curd as a cleanser for removing colors.
b) Apply hair mask made up of curd and fenugreek (methi powder) or hibiscus and coconut milk mask.
c) For skin, Apply curd with grated cucumber irrespective of your skin type this will soothe your skin and will help to remove colors.
d) Make rose water your best friend for at least a week post Holi, it works really well on sensitive skin that are prone to rashes.
e) Use besan and rose water uptan to clean your body followed by a mild glycerine soap.
f) Play dry and organic holi.
a) Avoid heavy makeup.
b) Don’t keep your hair open.
c) Don’t rub your skin and avoid direct application of lemon or acetone on your skin.
d) Avoid any kind of skin treatment like bleaching, facial etc.
e) Apply light moisturizer or any oil based serum after shower.
e) Avoid putting colors on animals and kids.
f) Don’t play with eggs or mud or other metallic colors.
g) Don’t leave colors for a long time, wash it immediately.
Hope these tips will be beneficial to you and it will definitely minimize after holi effects.
