I love reading. It is an inseparable part of me. It is like breathing to me. I would choke if ever I was told not to read. In this beautiful voyage of turning pages, I came across some sensitive, sensible, earthy and relatable work of fiction focusing on women and plight of women. One can say that these books some how proved to be the foundation of my debut novella, Beyond The Veil-The Journey Of An Indian Girl. These are those novels which I think everyone must read!
1. A matter of time by Shashi Deshpande
2. Nirmala by Premchand
3. Rajmohan’s Wife by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay
4. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
5. Pinjar by Amrita Pritam
6. Eat. Pray. Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
7. The Ghost by Danielle Steel
8. Anne Frank
9. Princess by Jean Sasson
These are some of the books that I pick when I am low. These inspire me when the going gets tough.
Why I have recommended these books, one will know only when one reads it.
Read and let me know what are your thoughts on it.
It feels good to know that I’ve read some of them. Thanks for the other suggestions. Would love to read them!
