It is a no brainer as to what follows in this third from the #Acotar series. #Acowar i.e. A Court Of Wings And Ruin by Sarah J Maas is all about the war.

The 700 pages long book follows the cliffhanger where Feyre enters the Spring Court after a face off with the King of Hybern. From there she gathers information about the Hybern and it’s forces.

What follows in these 700 pages is a well done built up for the war. One too many elements are added by the author be it the fire queen Vassa or Bryaxis or Stryga or the Bone Carver. These are the elements that will side the Faeries in this war against the unjust Hybern. Then comes the fleet of humans headed by Feyre’s father. And Prince Drakon’s forces too join in.

The scenes on battlefield only get intense when Feyre reaches the cauldron. For a second, Amren’s intentions became muddled for me. Then a shock wave, when Rhys stopped breathing, chilled my spine. However, what I didn’t like was the sudden and unreasoned exit of Bryaxis.

For 700 pages, the author I think did good but some trivial details could have been avoided is what I felt.

What I loved is that the good triumphs in this book only because of three estranged sisters! Overall, it was a good yet tiring read. But compared to the other series where the culmination/ war comes only in 7th or 8th book, this one was good.
