In our everyday life we bombard or skin with so many chemicals that aging early is inevitable. But in this fast paced life if I have learnt something very important then it has to be slow down when it comes to your health. And the health of my skin is as much crucial to me as my over all well-being. I don’t like to use chemical infused products on my skin and hence I will always go for organic and DIY beauty recipes.
Here is what forms my all-natural skincare routine
Steaming
Steaming opens up pores, cleanses skin inside out and prevents aging. The glow after steaming is what I look forward to always! Once or twice a week I take steam. But I also make sure to sit back in my bath tub of hot water a while longer thus making sure that I am including steaming in my everyday routine.
Rose water
That’s all that I apply immediately after bath everyday. It sufficiently moistures my skin, tones it and protects it throughout the day.
Besan scrub
Twice or thrice a week I make the besan paste and use it as scrub. You need 1 cup of besan or chickpea flour, 1/3rd cup of rice flour, pinch of turmeric, 3 – 4 tablespoons milk or malai (cream) and 1 teaspoon of honey. Whip it till it is a thick paste. Now scrub it all over. This leaves my skin glowing and soft.
You can make a dry mix by mixing besan, rice flour, turmeric in a jar as per the consistency mentioned above. Then use this on a weekly basis by mixing milk and honey to the dry mix.
Detox water
Detox water as I mentioned in my previous post is a fancy way to stay hydrated. My favorite detox water is apple cinnamon and classic cucumber. Take a look at more detox recipes here: 7 easy to make detox water recipes.
Oats and honey face mask
Face mask is a must when it comes to skincare routine. If you don’t want to go for this one you can use the above mentioned besan paste as a face mask. Oats and honey face mask is very simple to make. Grind oats in a mortar till it is fine and powdery. Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to the ground oats, you may add water to make a paste. Apply it for twenty minutes and wash it with regular water.
Green tea
My favorite of the skincare routine. Gives me glow inside out. Two cups every day. Benefits of Green tea for skincare are mentioned in one of my previous posts. Do take a look.
To make a good, strong cup of green tea you need a sturdy green tea detox bottle(you can use it for fruit detox also). In my view you can go for Instacuppa thermos travel mug or Instacuppa’s insulated green tea detox bottle.

You don’t need to dish out big bucks for a steam facial at a spa to enjoy the benefits; it can be done at home using items you already have.

The thing about home remedies is that one size does not fit all. One has to try and test if a particular component suits ones skin. For example for me besan is a big no, as it causes outbreaks. Otherwise, a very informative post.
