A beautiful cover and a heartfelt story which is now bound in a movie reel (#TheSkyIsPink starring Farah Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra) that’s soon to hit the theaters; I was in awe of the book, My little epiphanies by Aisha Chaudhary, from the day I heard about it from the publishers, Bloomsbury India.

The book is an extremely short read and consists of epiphanies penned by Aisha. Aisha was terminally ill but her spirit was effervescent and bustling with energy and positivity. When you read her words you breath in her spirit. When I began reading, the prologue itself gave me gooseflesh!

Aisha wanted her readers to understand the meaning of the word “epiphanies” and that’s why she chose such a tough title for her book. Because we read to learn, right? At the age of 18, that kind of maturity is rare. It is a tender age when we explore and experiment much. But Aisha had already been through enough and seen enough. That’s what her epiphanies bring for us – LIFE.

The foreword, the prologue, the introduction and the epilogue help us understand her better. And then there are her epiphanies. Her epiphanies are her stories – succinct, sweet yet hard hardhitting. They are profound and mature. They show us how much Aisha understood life in such a short span of time. While we, adults, caught in the web of adulting, struggle and fail to understand life; we cry over petty things and for the things we don’t have, this young soul not only grasped the essence of life but shared her knowledge with each of us via this book!

Aisha’s words are inspiring and heartwrenching but still give us hope. You can feel her spirit being seeped into her words and doodles. Her doodles are as cuspidate as her words – very strong and moving. Her words shake you up, give you peace and shock you at times.

Overall, this book is packed with not only nuggets from Aisha’s life but it is a story wrapped in her words that is utterly moving and motivating at the same time.

I eagerly await the movie, The Sky Is Pink starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, which releases on 11th October, 2019 all over India.
