It is imperative that we teach our kids about our festivals. Especially, how every festival is celebrated in different states of India. Amma, tell me about Durga Puja written by Bhakti Mathur and illustrated by Maulshree Somani helped me introduce the festival of Durga Puja to Rudrani.

Baby Rudrani was awed by the illustrations and the story from thereon gained all the attention.

The first half of the book talks about how Durga Puja is celebrated in West Bengal. It introduces the colourful Bong culture to kids. The dressing style, the food, the pandals, sindoor khela etc. The second half of the book reiterates the birth of Maa Durga. The book is penned in the most simplistic language, easy for parents to recite to their kids and for kids to understand.

One can call this book a complete infotainment for kids. They will surely enjoy it.

Tip- Enact it out to your kids and record their expressions. It so much fun. ☺️
